It’s been great to highlight the amazing women who work for TRACS International, but there are also some equally impressive men. We’re delighted to continue our series introducing you to our staff by highlighting Tianxiang Xia, Reservoir Engineer, TRACS International.
“I joined TRACS in 2008 as a reservoir engineer and am currently one of the longest-serving reservoir engineers in the company. My primary focus is on Reserves Audits and Competent Person’s Reports (CPRs), with core expertise in reservoir dynamic modelling, including Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in depleted gas reservoirs, uncertainty analysis, and reserve forecasts.
In my spare time, I have several hobbies and interests, including; Hiking and Trekking – I particularly enjoy hiking in Scotland and England, mainly in the Lake District. Being out in nature is the best way to appreciate and enjoy life. We started hiking during the Covid lockdown in 2020, and it has since become our main hobby for weekends and holidays;
Food and Drink – I love cooking Chinese food, as it allows me to keep alive the essential aspects of my culture and way of life. Additionally, exploring the Scotch whisky trail and the tastings, as each distillery offers a wide variety of unique flavours to discover;
Photography -I enjoy recording the journeys we had, to capture the wonderful and happy memories.
I come from a big family with two sisters and two brothers in a city (Hangzhou) in Southern China. I am the only one who ventured out overseas to explore the new way of life in 1993. Although we have adapted to life in the UK, we strive to maintain the basic and vital elements of Chinese life: family first, Chinese philosophies – balance and respect, familiar gatherings, and traditional foods.
