Blending!

Blended learning has emerged across the industry as a means of combining different learning and development methods.  We take a broad view on ‘blending’ and see this as going beyond traditional e-Learning packages.  Instead, we view blending as a multi-stranded approach to training, working from experiential learning principles, embracing Open AirTM and utilising a range of e-Products.  Any of these can be combined as optional components of a TRACS Training event.

Blended learning is an effective approach that combines various development methods, extending beyond traditional e-Learning packages. It utilises experiential learning principles, outdoor activities, and a range of e-Products, which can be integrated as optional components in TRACS Training events.

Our offerings include conventional e-Learning modules, quiz-style formats, and advanced packages that encourage team collaboration and technical study, supplemented by digital materials like e-books and e-tools.

We efficiently create e-learning modules compatible with clients’ existing learning portals. All modules are database-linked for results collection, helping identify knowledge gaps before courses and allowing us to tailor the focus accordingly. If outdoor access is limited, we can enhance the modules with virtual field graphics.

Mark Bentley

PhD
30+ years - geoscience

Mark develops and runs courses in the Open Air, Reservoir, E&P, Uncertainty & Risk and Energy Transition series for TRACS. He has a career background at Shell, AGR, TRACS and Langdale Geoscience. He has served as a distinguished lecturer for SPE and EAGE, acted as Training Director for TRACS and is an Associate Professor Heriot-Watt University. He is also co-author of the textbook ‘Reservoir Model Design’.
