Geomechanics
In the last five years, TRACS has seen a sharp increase in demand for geomechanics services across a range of applications. Recent studies include 3D geomechanical models of CCUS store complexes (saline aquifers and depleted gas fields), modelling geomechanics of depleting HPHT fields, wellbore stability, well abandonment, input to hydraulic fracture designs, safe injection limits and the geomechanical impact of thermal effects around injection sites.
Central to these studies is an understanding of in-situ stresses and rock properties, including faults and fractures and their role in containment and rock integrity to ensure project safety, improved economics and adherence to regulatory standards.
From wellbore to reservoir scale, TRACS provides geomechanics services to support production, injection and gas storage. We deliver geomechanics solutions for complex wells and reservoirs using a combination of industry-standard software, proprietary workflows and analytical tools. We can provide guidance and recommendations on data acquisition, appraisal programmes and management strategies, e.g. for wellbore stability.
